Swansea, Wales! The land of revival and intercession! And we are living in days that are similar to the days Rees Howells lived in. There is: call to pray; an anointing from God for His people to, in prayer, shift nations; an anointing from God for governmental intercession; and an anointing to hear God’s heart and know God’s purposes for the Jewish people, the nation of Israel and the Middle East. God is calling His people to pray so that nations will not resort to war risking escalation to a Third World War. God wants His purposes for Israel and the Middle East fulfilled. And God is looking for people to come into His kingdom in unprecedented numbers. You are invited to volunteer as the team did at the Bible school in Wales during WWII to give yourself to God for prayer. We received prayer today at the Bible College for a fresh anointing of this call for governmental intercession.
Together we speak a fresh anointing be released upon each one reading this. You are called.
As part of our journey we went to Windsor castle and subsequently to the obelisk dedicated to the Duke of Cumberland. The Duke of Cumberland was responsible for leading forces of the crown against the Jacobites who supported Bonnie Prince Charlie. Cumberland gave the command to give no quarter in the battle of Culloden. The ensuing battle resulted in the massacre of Scottish forces and the supporters of those in the communities of Scotland around Culloden. As is recorded on the official plaque for the obelisk, he is referred to as ‘Butcher Cumberland’, for his treatment of the Scots. The obelisk was originally erected by his father King George ll and remains today as a revered monument of a father to a son in Windsor Great Park. The original obelisk had Culloden inscribed on it. During the reign of Queen Victoria, that name was erased.
The obelisk has the phrase "Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense" inscribed on it. This is the motto of the Order of The Garter and is translated ‘Shame on him who thinks evil of it’. PRAYER Our prayers were for repentance on behalf of the monarchy for the historical wrong of Culloden. We repented and asked God to forgive and bring healing where still needed and that the cleansing blood of the Lamb would wash away all of the iniquities. And also, that the purposes of God for the monarchy and the peoples of the United Kingdom would be fulfilled.
We set aside Sunday July 10th to wait on the Lord and pray. After some time of worship, prayer and reflection, we thought again about the original call from God for this assignment. Carol Ann had a dream about Prince Harry, whom she referred to in the dream as Prince Rupert. Carol Ann and Dave were tasked with helping Harry to "get home." This link in the dream required further reflection to understand its significance.
Sunday, while in prayer, we began to reflect on Prince Rupert the military general who served King Charles I. The conflict between King Charles I and parliament led to a civil war. The royal forces lost, and the King was executed. The monarchy was abolished. Eleven years later it was restored. Once again we sensed the need to pray for the Queen and her family asking for grace and mercy for them. We recognize that they, like all of us, influence the future by judgements made (Matt 7:1). In the dream, Prince Harry was linked to Prince Rupert. Could it be that a possible understanding of this symbol is the risk of the monarch losing its authority or symbolic ‘head’ as Charles I did? Presently, the monarch is head of a number of governments in the commonwealth.
Since Barbados removed the Queen as monarch in November of 2021, Jamaica has advised of its intention to do the same. Granada is pursuing similar steps along with a number of other Caribbean commonwealth nations. Australia’s new Prime Minister surprised many by appointing a minister tasked with overseeing transition to a republic and committing to a referendum on removing the Queen as head of state.
Prince Harry in the dream needed to get home. This may be symbolically a return home to the UK to fulfill the purposes of God for him. Prayer is needed for much grace within the Royal family to forgive each other and see each other through God’s eyes and heart.
God originally asked us to pick up this assignment to pray for the Queen, her family and the Commonwealth family of Nations. There is a continuing need to repent for historical wrongs, but God also wants us to come alongside each other as nations to strengthen the things that remain.
Father, together we lift up the Queen, her family and the Commonwealth family of nations. We ask You for grace and mercy for all, that Your purposes might be fulfilled and each person, family and nation reach the destiny You have for them. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
We had a self-guided tour of the Palace of Holyrood House. The palace is the Queen’s official residence in Edinburgh and the home of Scottish royal history. One of the featured exhibits we visited was the Platinum Jubilee. It charted major events and regal activities over the 70 years of Queen Elizabeth’s reign.
We were drawn to a large banner on the wall that identified the Queen with the following inscription:
"Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith."
We reflected on our intercession for the Commonwealth family of nations, to strengthen the things that remain, and were reminded of the good that was established in the foundation of the Commonwealth family.
In our time before and during this journey, we have also been praying through issues and repenting of the wrongs that occurred in the commonwealth family.
However, today, in this last UK journey posting, we want to honour the Queen for her positive role as a leader and defender of the faith.
We acknowledge the Crown for all of the good that was done to establish the foundation of the Commonwealth family of Nations. We have been blessed and we together return blessings to the Crown.
